I don't know man. It was too naive of him to think kaido would keep his promise. Although he didn't have a choice, he could have somehow contacted Rayleigh or Whitebeard afterwards or somethin. All I know is that when you shoulder all responsibility by yourself without delegating to your friends and followers, it doesn't end well.
